Photographing Victoria and William’s Engagement Session at Filoli Gardens

When Victoria and William reached out to me about photographing their engagement session at Filoli Gardens, I couldn’t have been more excited. Filoli is one of the most beautiful estates in the Bay Area, offering lush gardens, historic architecture, and a serene atmosphere—an ideal setting for an engagement session. The couple’s love story, their effortless style, and the stunning backdrop made for a truly memorable day.

A Stylish First Look

Victoria looked stunning in her first outfit: a black one-shoulder cocktail dress with a striking red floral print. The dress was bold, sophisticated, and a perfect contrast against the vibrant greenery of Filoli’s gardens. The large red flowers on her dress popped beautifully, creating a striking visual that perfectly matched the elegance of the estate. William looked dashing in a crisp white button-up shirt and slacks. His classic, clean-cut look complemented Victoria’s bold dress, and together they made a stylish and radiant pair.

We wandered through the estate, capturing intimate moments and the beautiful chemistry they share. Whether standing by the iconic stone fountain or strolling through the garden’s lush paths, every moment was filled with grace, love, and natural beauty. The rich greenery and intricate floral designs of Filoli served as the perfect backdrop for their romantic session.

A Love Story That Crossed Continents

Victoria and William’s love story is a beautiful example of fate and timing. Four years ago, they were two Europeans living in San Francisco. Their paths crossed in the vibrant city, and they quickly realized they had found something truly special in one another. They share a passion for adventure, travel, and exploring the world together, and it’s clear that their love continues to grow with every new chapter they embark on.

This engagement session at Filoli was a perfect reflection of their journey so far—beautiful, intimate, and filled with memories that will last a lifetime. Their story began in San Francisco, and now they’re looking ahead to the next chapter as they plan to get married in Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Grey Hawk Golf Club later this spring. I can only imagine the stunning scenery and beautiful moments that will unfold on their wedding day, and I’m so excited to be part of it.

The Historic Charm of Filoli Gardens

Filoli Gardens is a 654-acre estate located in Woodside, California, with an extensive history dating back to the early 1900s. Originally built as a private estate for the Bourn family, the property was designed by the renowned architect Willis Polk. The name “Filoli” comes from the family’s motto: "Fight for a just cause, love your fellow man, live a good life." Over the years, the estate has been meticulously maintained and is now a public garden and historic site. Its beautiful gardens, grand estate house, and sweeping views of the surrounding hills make it a favorite location for weddings, photography, and events. For Victoria and William’s engagement session, it was the perfect place to capture both their love and the natural beauty around them.

Casual and Comfortable

After their more formal outfits, Victoria and William switched things up for a more relaxed look. Victoria wore an orange floral top paired with wide-leg pants that allowed her to move freely and comfortably through the gardens. The warm hues of her outfit mirrored the natural tones of the estate, creating a warm and inviting feel. Will opted for a laid-back white t-shirt and jeans, which brought a relaxed vibe to the shoot. Their second outfit was perfect for capturing the more casual side of their relationship, reflecting their fun, easygoing nature.

We spent the afternoon laughing, enjoying the stunning surroundings, and capturing more candid, carefree moments. It was clear from every glance and smile that Victoria and William share a deep connection, and it was such a joy to document their love in such a beautiful place.

A Day to Remember

Victoria and William’s engagement session at Filoli Gardens was a day filled with love, laughter, and elegance. From the history of the estate to their stunning outfits and the intimate moments shared, everything came together beautifully. Their connection was undeniable, and I’m so grateful to have been there to capture it.

Their wedding in Scottsdale is just around the corner, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue documenting their love story. Victoria and William’s journey is one of beauty, adventure, and a deep, genuine connection—and I feel so lucky to be a part of it.
